This painting tells part of the story of the ‚Bringing Them Home: Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from their Families‘ (1997). It’s more than 15 years since this report was brought down and there are still countless stories out there of Aboriginal people who are affected by their being taken from their families.

This painting shows three young Gamillaroi girls from the Stolen Generations walking together towards the Warrumbungle Mountains which is their Belonging Country.
